About Blackwater Electric

01
Who is Blackwater Electric Limited?

We're a domestic electrical firm run by Andy, based at Lowlands Road in Blackwater near Camberley and covering Surrey, Hampshire and Berkshire. Blackwater Electric Limited is a NAPIT Assured member (#72260) with a 5.0 rating across 102 Google reviews — every one of them five stars.

Are you a registered company?

Yes. Blackwater Electric Limited is registered at Companies House (company number 14747503), incorporated in March 2023. It's a proper limited company, not a one-off trader.

Who actually turns up to do the work?

Andy — the same person who quotes the job, answers the phone and gives you the certificate at the end. You deal with one electrician from first message to final hand-over, which is what customers mention again and again in their reviews.

What we do

02
What kind of electrical work do you take on?

Domestic work of every size: consumer unit upgrades, EV charger installs, EICR safety reports, fire and smoke alarms, home lighting and power, kitchen renovations, extensions and full rewires, fault finding, individual RCBO fitting, and small jobs like adding a socket or swapping a light fitting.

Do you do small jobs, or only big installations?

Both. We're happy to come out for a single socket, a light fixture or a bit of minor domestic work — the same standard of workmanship and certification applies whatever the size of the job.

What is an EICR and do I need one?

An Electrical Installation Condition Report is a documented health-check of your wiring. Landlords are legally required to hold a valid one, letting agents ask for them, and buyers often want one before purchase. If you rent out a property or are buying an older home, it's usually worth having.

Why fit individual RCBOs instead of shared RCDs?

With individual RCBOs, each circuit has its own protection — so if there's a fault, only that circuit trips and the rest of the house stays on. Shared RCDs can take out half the property at once. RCBOs are neater, safer and mean a single fault never leaves you in the dark.

Can you install an EV charger at my house?

Yes. We install certified home charge points, working out the cable route, position and load around your property and checking your supply can carry the extra demand. It's installed to current building regulations and the wiring regulations.

Booking & on the day

03
How do I get a quote?

Call or text Andy on 07944 674644, email andy@blackwaterelectric.co.uk, or send the details through the contact form. For many jobs a photo and a description are enough to price it up.

How quickly can you come out?

It depends on the diary, but we move quickly — one customer had their whole job completed within two days of first getting in touch. Call or text and Andy will tell you honestly when he can fit you in.

What are your hours?

Monday to Friday, 09:00 to 17:00. We're closed at weekends, but you can call or text at any time and Andy will get back to you.

Will I have to wait in all day?

No. Andy books a specific day and keeps you posted — staying in touch and turning up when he says he will is one of the things customers single out in their reviews.

Will you make a mess?

We work tidily and clear up after ourselves. Electrical work can mean lifting boards or chasing walls, but we keep disruption to a minimum and leave the place as we found it.

Credentials & standards

04
What does NAPIT Assured mean for me?

NAPIT is a government-approved Part P competent person scheme. As a NAPIT Assured member (#72260), we can self-certify notifiable domestic work to Building Regulations — so you don't pay separately for a council inspection, and your work is signed off correctly.

Is your work certified?

Yes. Everything is completed and tested to BS 7671 — the UK wiring regulations — and handed over with the correct certificate: an installation certificate, a minor works certificate or an EICR, depending on the job.

Are you insured?

Yes, Blackwater Electric Limited carries the insurance you'd expect of a professional electrical contractor. If you need to see the details for your records, just ask.

What is BS 7671?

BS 7671 is the British Standard for electrical installations — the wiring regulations that all safe, compliant electrical work in the UK is built and tested against. We work to the current edition on every job.

After the job

05
What paperwork will I receive?

The relevant certificate for the work — installation, minor works or an EICR report — plus, for notifiable work, the Building Regulations compliance certificate through NAPIT. Keep them safe: they're your proof the work was done and tested properly.

How do I pay?

Andy will let you know the agreed price up front and how to settle it when the job's done. Fair, clearly-communicated pricing is one of the things reviewers mention most.

What if something isn't right afterwards?

Get in touch with Andy directly and he'll put it right. Dealing with one person start to finish means there's never any question of who's responsible for the work.
